My Approach

Healing begins with understanding, not judgment.

Eating disorders are rarely about food alone.

They often develop as ways of coping with pain, uncertainty, perfectionism, trauma, anxiety, obsessive thinking, or overwhelming emotions. Recovery isn't about simply changing behaviors. It's about understanding why those behaviors became necessary in the first place and helping you build a life that no longer requires them.

My approach is collaborative, compassionate, evidence-based, and individualized. Together, we'll work toward meaningful, lasting change at a pace that balances growth with safety.

Every person deserves individualized care.

No two eating disorders look exactly alike.

Even when two people share the same diagnosis, their experiences, histories, strengths, identities, and recovery journeys can be entirely different.

Rather than following a rigid protocol, I tailor treatment to the unique needs of each individual while drawing from the best available scientific evidence.

Therapy should never feel like trying to fit yourself into someone else's recovery plan.

I treat people—not diagnoses.

While eating disorders are often the reason people seek treatment, they rarely exist in isolation.

Many clients also struggle with:

  • Anxiety

  • OCD

  • Trauma

  • ADHD

  • Depression

  • Perfectionism

  • Identity development

  • Relationship difficulties

Rather than focusing solely on symptom reduction, we work to understand the whole person and address the underlying factors that keep the eating disorder in place.

I don’t expect perfection. I expect honesty. Therapy is a place where we can understand what’s happening together—not a place where you have to pretend you’re doing better than you are.

Therapy should be collaborative.

I don't believe therapy is something that happens to you.

It is something we build together.

You are the expert on your own experiences.

I bring specialized knowledge, clinical expertise, and evidence-based treatment.

Together, we make decisions collaboratively, adjusting treatment as your needs evolve.

My commitment to you

If we work together, you can expect a therapist who will be

✓ Honest

✓ Compassionate

✓ Direct when needed

✓ Curious rather than judgmental

✓ Collaborative

✓ Trauma-informed

✓ Grounded in science

✓ Respectful of your autonomy

✓ Committed to your long-term well-being

Weight-inclusive, evidence-based care.

Recovery is about far more than the number on a scale.

My practice is grounded in a weight-inclusive philosophy that recognizes health cannot be determined by body size alone.

Treatment emphasizes

  • nourishment

  • flexibility

  • body respect

  • emotional well-being

  • sustainable recovery

without reinforcing diet culture or weight stigma.

Healing requires connection.

Eating disorders thrive in isolation.

Recovery happens in relationships.

Whether that means collaborating with your physician, dietitian, psychiatrist, loved ones, or other members of your treatment team, I believe healing is strongest when care is coordinated and everyone is working toward the same goals.

Recovery is possible.

Whether this is your first experience with therapy or you've been in treatment before and are looking for a different approach, my goal is to create a space where you feel understood, challenged when appropriate, and supported throughout the recovery process.

You don't have to navigate this alone.
